Overview
Moore Place Golf Club in Esher was opened for play by 6 times Open Champion Harry Vardon in 1926.
This 9 hole course is intricate and challenging and starts with a shot over a small water hazard that can catch out even the best golfers depending on the pin position. The third hole has been lengthened over the years and teeing blind down the hill relies on strict accuracy to ensure you hit the relatively narrow fairway.
Narrow fairways come into play on numerous occasions on this course and with the surrounding woodland, and the wayward golfer off the tee can easily pay the penalty. Greens are tight and the natural undulations of the landscape provide a tricky test.
